Founded in 2012, the Mai Theory brand seeks to redefine the way women of all ages wear pearl jewellery, accessories and apparel. Surrey based, founder and owner Mai Patcharakan Greener creates dramatic and imaginative designs showing how pearls can be both classically elegant and contemporarily cool.

“My designs have to be whimsical, magical, and they must spark joy. I need to have fun with my creations because that’s what life is all about."

Inspired by her mother’s innate sense of style, Mai studied Fashion Styling & Photography at the London College of Fashion, before working as an Editorial Stylist for a variety of leading fashion publications.

Mai designs her collections of jewellery, hair pieces and embellished clothing in her Surrey studio. Collaborating with Thai artisans to create unique pieces that are rooted in a reverence for traditional Thai techniques. Each piece is thoughtfully designed by Mai and meticulously handmade or hand-embroidered with the finest materials by local craftspeople. White, black and pastel coloured pearls are used alongside moonstone gems, feathers and beading to create a truly unique sartorial treasure trove.
